What you need to know about cervical pillows?

Contour and cervical pillows are ergonomically designed to fit a certain part of the body as its target area. These pillows are firmer than traditional pillows. They are recommended for people who have back or neck problems and who do not find relief through after sleeping all night. Both contour and cervical pillows are designed for a specific body area and to alleviate pain in that area.

Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam Pillow

Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam Pillow

This pillow manufactured by Sleep Innovations is a memory foam pillow with a cotton cover. Depending on your preferences, you can sleep on the high or low loft, which feature is great for side sleepers. In most cases you can buy a low loft model, or a high loft model, here you have both at the same time. Another thing worth noting is that this pillow keeps pretty cool throughout the night (but it’s definitely not the best pillow that stays cool all night). All in all, it’s a comfortable memory foam contour pillow that allows you to sleep on its high or low loft, depending on your preferences.

Here’s what customers say about this pillow.

There are too many shady memory foam products in the market that you just have to question the quality. Well, with Sleep Innovations penetrating the scene, I’m glad there is a true competitor that will give Tempur Pedic a run for it’s money.

I bought this pillow at Costco roughly 5 years ago and even till now I’m still using it. It’s my favorite pillow of all time! The main reason I like the Sleep Innovations contour brand is because it is still firm after all these years, keeping its memory shape. The pillow cover is pretty soft and good quality fabric too. Only thing is one of the zippers broke after about a year of washing.

It took about 1 week to get used to this pillow but now my neck doesn’t hurt as much as it did when I used regular pillows! I’d definitely recommend it.

Therapeutica Sleeping Pillow

Therapeutica Sleeping Pillow

Therapeutica Sleeping Pillow is another very popular cervical pillow. It’s available in few sizes so if you often find your pillow too small this won’t be an issue with Therapeutica. Just make sure to choose a larger one. Please note that if you’re new to cervical pillows adjusting to sleeping on this one might take a few days. Just try to find a spot that’s most comfortable for you and sleep on it, that’s it. Also, it’s worth noting that many people who suffer from TMJ (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) found this pillow very comfortable and helpful for their issues.

Here are some quotes from customer reviews on Amazon.

Then a new chiropractor turned me onto the Therapeutica pillow. It took a week or two to adjust to it but I’ve never looked back. All it takes is 3-4 days away from home on a “normal” pillow to remind me what an extraordinary difference this pillow makes to my neck.

I have to sleep with this pillow. It really supports your neck well. Worth the money.

Never dreamt that this pillow would be as wonderful as it is. The pillow is for my wife whose masseur had recommended it very highly, and what with back and neck problems, she was enticed to give it a try. Only a few weeks in and her pain is just about gone and restful sleep restored.

Tri-Core Pillow

Core 200 Tri-Core Pillow Standard Support-Core Products
Tri-Core Pillow is fiber-filled cervical pillow for side and back sleepers. What’s noteworthy about this pillow is the fact, that some people didn’t find this pillow helpful right away. It took a couple of nights before their pain have slowly started to diminish and then disappear. If you’ll decide to try out this pillow, use it for at least a couple of nights before returning it back, this might be a life changer.

Let’s read what Amazon customers wrote about this pillow.

Took a couple nights to get used to, as with any new pillow. But I’ve got the hang of it now and it seems to help my neck alignment so my herniated disc doesn’t bother me as much.

Update! We have now had these pillows for several months and still love them! We are side *and* back sleepers and find this pillow very comfortable for both. When side-sleeping, we roll onto the side lobes which are firm enough to keep our heads well supported and in good alignment, yet not too firm as to be uncomfortable. When back sleeping, we just roll back to the middle pocket.

Arc4life Cervical Linear Traction Neck Pillowis a cervical pillow manufactured for side and back sleepers. Unlikely other pillows, manufacturer doesn’t just state it’s a good pillow for side and back sleepers, there are certain areas on the pillow, where you should place your head, depending on your favorite sleeping position. If you’re a side sleeper, you should sleep on the side of the pillow, while back sleepers sleep on its center. Keeping your head in the appropriate area should help with relieving morning fatigue. One thing worth mentioning – it’s a pretty expensive pillow, but as you probably know, it’s better to buy one pillow that treats all your pains than buy a cheaper one that doesn’t help much.
